Meet the Extern – Olivia

Hi! I’m Olivia Jacobs and I am Jacksonville Hearing and Balance Institute’s new audiology extern for the 2024-2025 year. I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama where I attended the University of South Alabama. At USA I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and started pursuing my Doctorate in Audiology. I have had the opportunity to gain experience in various clinical settings such as school clinics, hospitals, ENT offices, and private practices. I enjoy working with all populations and my top topics of interest are electrophysiology and hearing aids.

I feel very fortunate that I was able to take this opportunity to not only gain valuable clinical experience but also get to move to a new place for the first time ever! I have really enjoyed Jacksonville and love exploring the city a little more every week. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach or pool, doing puzzles, and watching new movies and shows.

Everyone at JHBI has been so welcoming and I look forward to continuing to get to know and learn from them during my time here.
