How You Can Help Our Hearing Help for Africa Mission Trip

What is Hearing Help for Africa?

Hearing Help for Africa is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing high quality ear-related medical services to the people of Joss, Nigeria. The organization was founded in 2010 by our very own Dr. Douglas Green, his wife, Kelly, and an ear, nose, and throat surgeon, Dr. Joel Anthis. The goal of Hearing Help for Africa is to provide access to hearing healthcare, as well as further the education of future ear, nose, and throat surgeons in Nigeria.  Dr. Green has given presentations to the medical providers of Nigeria to help promote and implement improved long-term medical care for ear-related issues.

Our team conducts diagnostic hearing tests, diagnoses hearing loss, and treats patient’s hearing loss with hearing aids or cochlear implants. Dr. Green performs cochlear implant surgeries and other critical otologic surgeries that patients may not receive. We continue to support these patients from the States via virtual programming abilities.

Additionally, the team partners with SIM Nigeria to provide ministry services and outreach to at-risk individuals and those seeking refuge from drugs, violence, etc. We work closely with a group of permanent missionaries in Jos who help organize our participation in the community.

When is the next mission trip?

Dr. Green and a team of providers are returning to Nigeria for a fifth trip in February of 2025.
