Actress Toni Trucks from the CBS show ‘SEAL Team’ has opened up that she feels “empowered” now that she has been fit with hearing aids at the age of 43. She noted having a mild hearing loss most of her life however was always told she didn’t need hearing aids yet. When she started to accompany her father for his hearing aid appointments, she began her journey as well, after learning even a mild hearing loss can be treated with hearing aids. She began to research the effects of untreated hearing loss and brain health, and decided to take action for her own hearing health.

“When I realized that hearing health equals brain health, I was completely sold on taking care of my ears,” she stated. “You can have your hearing tested yearly along with your eyes and your teeth, like any other thing that we’re taking care of all the time.”

She also states the latest hearing aid technology is much more advanced than the negative reputation they have, alluding the rechargeability, Bluetooth technology, app control, smart computer chips, and AI technology. “These are not your grandpa’s hearing aids. The world has changed.”
